Ellen Thompson

About Me

Ellen Thompson graduated from Humboldt State University with a B.S. in Environmental Resources Engineering and a B.A. in Studio Art, Spring 2020. She is a passionate scientist as well as a dedicated artist and could not choose one over the other. She is working towards a future in biomimicry design. Biomimicry is "an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature’s time-tested patterns and strategies" as defined by the Biomimicry Institute. She enjoys collaborating with individuals from diverse academic and social backgrounds. She is looking forward to exploring more art mediums in the future. Currently, she is practicing plein air painting with oil paints, celebrating her love of nature through her landscapes.
